There is a moment when longing stops being passive. When something begins to shift — quietly, almost imperceptibly — before it can be put into words.

My paintings begin somewhere within this space.

Working primarily in oil, I create expressive, figurative paintings and landscapes that are rooted in reality but driven by feeling. I am less interested in depicting a subject exactly as it appears than in capturing what it carries — a mood, a memory, a tension, something that may be difficult to name.

The women in my paintings rarely perform or declare themselves. They inhabit moments of introspection, longing or change. Landscapes can carry the same emotional weight: a mountain, a horizon or an open space becomes more than a place, without losing its physical presence.

At the centre of my practice is an ongoing interest in quiet resistance — in the subtle point at which longing becomes movement and vulnerability reveals its own strength. Freedom, memory and change recur throughout the work, but I deliberately resist resolving them into fixed narratives. I want the viewer to recognise something without being told exactly what it is.

Perhaps this is what keeps bringing me back to painting: its ability to make an emotion tangible without having to explain it.

I currently continue my artistic training at the Fine Arts Academy Cologne under Ivan Dimov.
